Marimo moss balls are an easy to care and acctually are a type of algea they will compete for nutrients with unwanted algea and filter your water for a healthier ecosystem. they do not requirer any fertillizer or high light the only maintenance they ever need is when ever you do a water change to flip the onto ther other side so both sides get light. overall it's probably the perfect beginner aquarium plant you can even make complicated aquascapes using moss balls if you are advanced but you probably would have known that already :)
